Centered on Charlotte, this chapter protects the prairies, glades, and creeks of the rolling Piedmont.

The south-central Piedmont still holds remnants of the rare Piedmont prairie, along with rocky glades and hardwood bottoms. In a fast-growing region, our chapter pushes for native landscaping and rescues plants from the path of the bulldozer.
